Enough Coranic Nonsense

The following comes from True Peers via Tiberge and a string of others. This is the beauty of the Internet:

This is the logo of one of my favorite websites, Occidentalis. "Cassandre" (a man, I believe) is a frequent contributor and here unleashes his anger at the cultural decay that has altered the daily lives of the French beyond recognition. In America, we went through this during the 60's and 70's, especially on the East coast; now our West and Southwest are getting it full blast.

I'm almost ashamed to admit this: I'm an average Frenchman, respectful of laws and institutions; I pay my taxes and my dues, I love my family and tolerate my neighbors whatever their skin color or their religion; I vote in every election. In short, a perfect fool...

Well, the fool is tired of being taken for a pigeon!!!

And so I want to state it loud and clear to the bastards that govern us and to all those of the same ilk who dream of taking over the reins of government, only to end up in free-fall: "Enough Coranic nonsense!"

For decades, especially since the cease-fire in Algeria, we have brought millions of foreigners to our national soil, and asked nothing of them in return.

Since then France, Land of Plenty, where the elite had allowed everybody and anybody to find a place in society suited to his aptitudes and his merits, where domestic tranquility was the rule that let us live in peace, and prepare for future generations, that France has become a jungle.

Whether it's in public transportation, in the schools, in the shopping centers, in areas where people relax at their leisure, even (and this is a sign of the times) in the rallies that take place in public squares, honest citizens are now permanently in danger of losing their possessions and their lives.

Worse than that, they have no hope of ever being helped by anyone, now that all defense reflexes and any will to rebel on the part of our compatriots have been annihilated by the pathetic bleeding-heart antiracism of this society of victims living among jackals.

Islam the Conquerer is taking root everywhere with the active complicity of intellectuals, politicians and union bosses who see in these new-comers minds that are easily manipulated and future clients, commodities sorely lacking among the ethnic French...

I pray that lucidity will finally win out for the exasperated and frightened French, the way it appears to be winning out in Denmark where the following petition is, it would seem, having a resounding success:

We regret having offered you a haven when war forced you to flee your country. We regret having welcomed you when others turned you away. We regret having given you free housing, free education, free health care and a minimum revenue even without work. We regret having approved your mosques in our ancient Christian land. We regret having done all that without even requiring that you learn our ways and our language in return. We really do regret. And now, go to hell!

Note: I do not know any more about this petition than what is stated above. Occidentalis got it from Novopress who got it from France-Courtoisie, a subscriber-only website. The last line should be modified. I understand the sentiment, but it is counter-productive to use that in a petition. I don't know for whom the petition is intended. Will try to update.

Hostage Credibility Shot

Hostage claims she made her anti-American rant on video under duress. Hostage hides homosexuality from kidnappers. Hostage pacifist turns out to have been musical collaborator with U.S. Marine Corps. And the hostages held today are all A-OK with the folks who have them, not secret homosexuals, not Marine Corp associates, not those who will tell the truth about the kidnappers once the guns are gone from the temples. No, the lot they have now and get next, those folks will be just straight-up hostages whom all can take at face-value. No need to suspect them of anything kidnapping Muslims will hate them for.

Yes, Muslims are born into a culture of learned stupidity. Islam take babies and children and turns them into Human garbage. But honestly folks, just how long can Muslims stay this stupid in the face of finding out about hostages?

Freed US reporter says forced into propaganda video
01 Apr 2006 22:22:47 GMT
Source: Reuters

BOSTON, April 1 (Reuters) -

Describing her captivity in Iraq as horrific, freed American hostage Jill Carroll disavowed critical statements she made about the United States, saying on Saturday she had been forced into making a propaganda video.

"During my last night in captivity, my captors forced me to participate in a propaganda video," she said in a statement read by Richard Bergenheim, editor of The Christian Science Monitor, the Boston-based newspaper where she worked when she was abducted in Baghdad on Jan. 7.

"They told me they would let me go if I cooperated. I was living in a threatening environment, under their control, and wanted to go home alive. I agreed," she said. "Things that I was forced to say while captive are now being taken by some as an accurate reflection of my personal views. They are not," she added in the statement made while she was in Germany two days after being freed in Baghdad.

In the video posted on a jihadist Web site that also showed videos of beheadings and attacks on American forces, Carroll denounced the U.S. presence in Iraq, praised the militants fighting American forces there and predicted the insurgents would defeat the Americans. In her statement on Saturday, she described her 82 days in captivity as "horrific" for her and her family, and thanked her supporters around the world for rallying on her behalf after she was kidnapped by Islamic militants who also killed her Iraqi interpreter.

Iraq hostage's family kept homosexuality secret
Canadian's family, partner were fearful of captors' reaction

TORONTO - Fears that Iraqi captors might harm a Canadian hostage if they knew he was gay forced his partner to remain silent as loved ones called for an end to the ordeal, a director from the freed hostage's aid group said Monday.

During his four months of captivity, James Loney's sexuality was kept out of the media at the request of his family, said Doug Pritchard, co-director of the aid group Christian Peacemaker Teams.

[....]

Loney, 41, a peace activist with Christian Peacemaker Teams, was kidnapped off the streets of Baghdad on Nov. 26 along with fellow Canadian Harmeet Sooden, 33, Briton Norm Kember, 74, and American Tom Fox, 54.

Fox's bullet-ridden body was found dumped on the streets of Baghdad on March 9.

In an appeal for her father's life issued through Christian Peacemaker Teams after his capture, Fox's daughter Katherine described him as a wanderer, an outdoorsman and a listener. He also was a gifted musician, a former clarinetist with the Marine Corps Band in Washington, she said.
"My dad wasn't a Marine, he was a musician," Fox wrote.

Fox had traded in his fatigues for a life of pacifism.

What now with hostages? Why not torture them till they 'fess up? Can Muslims be so stupid they won't suspect each and every hostage of something vile and anti-Islamic from now on? Well, far be it from me to raise this issue to sow doubts in the minds of jihadi kidnappers, but what the heck. If I were able to whisper in their ears, I'd tell them to figure that hostages are likely hiding something, especially so-called pacifists and peace wankers. But that's just me. I figure that even now Muslims will be too stupid to suspect hostages. La la la.

They will Write of Us....

Below are three short pieces from Diana Preston, The Boxer Rebellion: China's war on Foreigners, 1900. Robinson: London; 1999. This is our time. What will people write of us? I'm pleased and proud to write that one of my great grandmothers was a missionary there at the time these stories take place:
****

Here's an anecdote "recorded by Herbert Hoover, a group of British Indian Sikhs were left in an exposed position by some retreating French sentries. 'Not knowing what it meant for other than traitors to run under attack without orders,' the Sikhs set about 'exterminating the squad of Frenchmen, which only the most frantic commands of the English officers prevented." (Preston: p. 168.)

An American woman reports on the siege. "She also found that the Japanese made the best patients. The Russians were usually 'stolid and silent'; the French and Italians tended to 'make the worst of their wounds'; and the British and Americans were usually 'in too great a hurry to make out that they were well enough to return to duty'; but the Japanese were always 'brave and cheery.' When the Reverend Allen discovered that a Japanese soldier whose knee had been smashed by a shell had managed to reverse his position in bed to move his head out of the sun, he told him not to move himself without asking for help. The poor man, who had misunderstood every word, painstakingly shuffled back into his original position. Allen found him then minutes later 'with his head in the blazing sun, and a smile of conscious virtue on his face.' " (Preston: p. 186.)

"A twenty year old bugler, Calvin P. Titus, volunteered to be the first up the wall. He was a small man, just over five foot seven, and weighed a mere 120 pounds. His commanding officer, Colonel Dagget, waited for someone else to offer but they did not. Titus duly swarmed up, unarmed, in an act of consummate courage for which he received the Congressional Medal of Honor and an appointment to West Point. (Preston: p. 253.)
****

What will people write of us? I know that mine was a bit of a looter, given that I have some nice things from the Empress's bedroom. Maybe we can do a little better in our struggle against Islam.

Danes Outdo Themselves.

I find myself to be disgusting sometimes. I like wonem, as a rule, and I have what I think is deep sympathy for Muslim women. And yet, there are those many times that I see Muslim women and I want to punch them in the face. You likely don't care to know what I feel about Muslim men. What though do I do about my hatred of Islam when it's personified by a woman? I have trouble dealing with my own self confronted with a vicious and murderous lying bitch who'd mutilate her own daughters, who'd sell her children into slavery, who'd dress up her kids and send them off to commit a homicide bombing. I know Islam too well t be taken in by the lies of it. All my natural sympathy for the defenseless evaporates, and in it's place I feel nothing but anger.

The Danes, what to do about them? What to do about a group of people who pander like capos, living for a week till they die, leaving for the next lot the first job of hauling out their predecessors to the creamtoria? This whole business makes me sick. I do not deserve this. I did nothing to deserve this. None of us deserves this affront to Human decency. The story below shames us all.

By Nidal Abu Arif, IOL Correspondent

COPENHAGEN, March 31, 2006 (IslamOnline.net) – The first hijab-clad talk show presenter has appeared on the Danish television to discuss Danish society's pressing issues topped by the cartoons that lampooned Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

"I'm seeking to project a good image about hijab-clad Muslim women in Denmark," Asmaa Abdol-Hamid told IslamOnline.net Friday, March 31.

Asmaa, 24, appeared for the first time on the small screen on Wednesday, March 29.

She has been selected to co-present a talk show with Danish reporter Adam Holm.

"It has been a bold move from the Danish television and a step in the right direction," she said.

Denmark has been the focus of Muslim anger following the publication of THE offensive cartoons by mass-circulation Jyallands Posten last September.

The 12 cartoons, including one showing the Prophet with a bomb-shaped turban, were later reprinted by European newspapers on claims of freedom of expression.

Proud Muslim

Asmaa co-presents the program with Danish journalist Adam Holm.

The young lady has grown up in Denmark since she was six years old.

"I'm proud to be a Danish Muslim of Palestinian origin," said Asmaa, who is doing an MA in sociology.

"My family has supported me and gave me full freedom of choice," she added.

Asmaa has been singled out of four other competitors for the TV program.

"I was the only hijab-clad woman among the candidates," she noted.

"It is now my responsibility to present the true image of Islam as an ambassadress of the Muslim faith."

Asmaa rejected that she was chosen for hijab or as a gesture of goodwill from the Danish government to the Muslim world.

"I have the necessary qualifications for the job as a fluent Danish speaker and a confident presenter and interviewer," she explained.

Love/Hate Mails

Asmaa believes that her hijab will be the talk of the audience at the very beginning.

"But I'm confident that with the passage of time they would come to realize my distinct personality and presentation."

She said that she had received love and hate e-mails from Danish viewers.

"Some e-mails were critical and offensive; but I was never provoked and dealt with them in accordance with our Islamic teachings, trying to explain my viewpoints to the senders."

She hopes that her program will appeal to the Muslim minority in the country, urging Danish Muslims to participate and integrate into society.

"This would help Muslims become part and parcel of Danish society," she said.

Muslims make up around three percent of Denmark’s 5.3 population, making Islam the second largest religion after the Lutheran Protestant Church.

Islam, however, is not recognized by the state unlike Christianity and Judaism.

Fight, you worthless Danish bastards.

We will be Heroes if only....

Serge Trifkovic below raises some questions we had better find real anwers to quickly. " The victory in the war on terrorism ultimately has to be won in the domain of morals and culture."
****

Trifkovic: "If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles," says Sun Tzu. Once we get to know the jihadist enemy, his core beliefs, his role models, his track-record, his mindset, his modus operandi, and his intentions, we'll also know his weaknesses, which are many, above all his inability to develop a prosperous economy, or a functional family, or a harmonious society. But the main problem is with those among us who have the power to make policy and shape opinions, and who will reject our diagnosis. Having absorbed postmodernist assumptions, certain only of uncertainty, devoid of any serious faith except that in their own infallibility, members of our own elite class treat the jihadist mindset as a pathology that can and should be treated by treating causes external to Islam itself.

[....]

Abroad, we are told, we need to address political and economic grievances of the impoverished masses, we need to spread democracy and free markets in the Muslim world, we need to invest more in public diplomacy. At home we need more tolerance, greater inclusiveness, less profiling, and a more determined outreach to the minorities that feel marginalized and threatened by the war on terror. The predictable failure of such cures leads to ever more pathological self-scrutiny and morbid self-doubt. This vicious circle is untenable and must be broken.

[....]

Abroad, concealing the rioters' identity fits in with the liberal world view that reject the notion that importing Muslim immigrants may be in any way disadvantageous for the host country. Having reduced religion, politics and art to "narratives" and "metaphors" which merely reflect prejudices based on the distribution of power, the elite class saw the rioters' shout of "Allahu akbar!" as a mere idiosyncrasy that would be cured if the French state gave those "youths" more jobs, more dark-skinned TV anchors, and, of course, lots of "affirmative action" in employment and education.

[....]

One percent of Muslims living in the United States were responsible for over 90 percent of terrorist offences and serious threats in the country since 9-11. A young Muslim man is literally millions of times more likely to carry out a terrorist attack in the United States than an Episcopalian, Roman Catholic, or Orthodox Christian, a Jew, a Hindu, or a Buddhist. Or for that matter a Lebanese Christian. Membership of a group is a valid pointer in assuming and judging unobserved behavioral characteristics of an individual, especially in the absence of specific information about that individual's background. To suggest otherwise is neither moral nor sane.

[....]

The victory in the war on terrorism ultimately has to be won in the domain of morals and culture. It can be won only by an America - and Britain, and France, and Italy. - that has regained its awareness of its moral, spiritual, and civilizational roots. If that happens, the renewed impulse to defend those lands and to procreate will come, too. While the likelihood of such belated recovery remains in doubt, it it is not impossible. Miracles do happen, and therefore they will happen.

http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21872
****

I'm not big on dreaming. Miracles do happen, but not because we want them to. Things happen when we want them to because we work at the right resuslt and keep trying till we win.

The picture above comes from Kurosawa's film Ran, (Chaos,) his version of King Lear. Above that, Jan Sobieski, and on top, Charles Martel.

We are winners because we are smart and determined. Some of you will be heroes.

The Future of Islam is Malik Oussekine.

We had our weekly meeting here in Vancouver, Canada. After encountering two Iraninan Parsee-speaking girls while wearing my Israeli flag baseball cap some of you will be delighted to know I am still single. We met, we talked till closing time, and then walked across town and talked more. I'll try to write more in the morning. Suffice it to write now that our discussion was enlightening to me, as always, and that we are making progress in our struggle.

Maccusgermanis did the same in Alabama. If this weren't so enjoyable I would claim it's tough to do week after week. The fact is that beause it works for us it is a pleasure to do. For those who are struggling to find others to wrk with we urge you to continue. There is a movement afoot, slow but certain, and we will be important to it as the early voices who help bring this movement to fruition. The hesitant know of us and wait for the time to become riper. We have to keep it up and give others our strength. In time, some of you will be heroes. That's what heroes are-- people like you. Heroes are normal and decent people who do extraordinary things in times of need. We need you now. This is what we face.

The New York Times somehow doesn't think it's worth printing in the following story that the yoots in question are Muslims. Well, the yoots are Muslims. Let's get used to it. We'll be seeing much more of this kind of activity, according to our friend me, in the coming months. I began in November predicting that the rioting would resume in mid-April. I suggest now that we have not really seen the beginnings yet of the Muslim rioting to come, this being just opportunistic violence; the real Muslim rioting will begin, and only just begin, in two more weeks. It will, I continue to predict, intensify throuhgout the summer till it climaxes in August with full-scale insurrection and a military coup d'etat in France, with Europe wide rioting by Muslims, and in sympathy riot across the Muslim world.

Europe, you ain't seen nothing yet.

Violent Youths Threaten to Hijack Demonstrations in Paris

By ELAINE SCIOLINO
Published: March 30, 2006

PARIS, March 29 — The images are unnerving: hooded, swift-footed youths infiltrating protest rallies in the heart of tourist Paris, smashing shop windows, setting cars on fire, beating and robbing passers-by and throwing all sorts of objects at the riot police.

On the same day, a group of youths, above, attacked a man, one of several incidents involving violence and vandalism by so-called casseurs, or smashers, officials said.

They are called the casseurs — the smashers. With more huge marches planned for next week as part of a continuing protest over a new jobs law, the casseurs are the volatile chemical that could ignite an even bigger crisis for the government than the impasse over the law itself.

They create primarily a law-and-order problem, evoking the rioting that gripped the troubled suburbs of French cities for weeks last fall. Pumped up by news coverage, these youths boast of trying to steal cellphones and money and vow to take revenge for the daily humiliation they say they endure from the police.

But the casseurs create an image problem as well, as striking television images and photographs of youths, some of them masked, and the police using tear gas and water cannons, give the impression of a Paris under siege. "Don't Go to Paris," read a headline in the British tabloid The Sun last Saturday.

In live coverage of the mass protests in Paris on Tuesday, CNN compared the protests to the 1989 Tiananmen Square uprising in Beijing. On Wednesday, a CNN correspondent called the comparison "regrettable" during a meeting between Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy and the foreign news media.

What worries the authorities now is that the targets of anger are shifting, moving beyond attacks on property to attacks on people as well.

"I am deeply worried because we are seeing an unleashing of violence by 2,000 to 3,000 thugs who come to smash and loot," Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said in an interview in the popular tabloid Le Parisien on Wednesday. "My objective is to avoid mistakes by the police, so that people can protest in safety."

The police and independent analysts say that most of the vandalism and violence that has marred the protests has been by young men, largely immigrants or the children of immigrants, from tough, underprivileged suburbs, who roam in groups and have little else to keep them busy.

"In France, we always imagine violence to be political because of our revolutions, but this isn't the case," said Sebastian Roché, a political scientist who specializes in delinquency in the suburbs. "The casseurs are people who are apart from the political protests. Their movement is apolitical. It is about banal violence — thefts, muggings, aggression."

But left-wing anarchists and right-wing skinheads have also been responsible for some of the disruption. The police said that in the protests on Tuesday, for example, they could identify about 1,500 casseurs, most of whom seemed to be suburban youths, and about 300 more who seemed to be "anarchist-leftist" militants. One bearded man who led a small band in taunting the police on Tuesday carried the black anarchist flag in one hand and a flaming torch in the other.

Among those who occupied and vandalized the prestigious École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, witnesses said, there were nonstudents, some who were drunk, and some as old as 40, who brought sleeping bags and advocated anarchy. "You are seeing a return to the idea of legitimate use of violence for political means" by the extreme left and to a lesser extent by the extreme right, Mr. Roché said.

The casseur phenomenon is not new. During student protests in 1994 over a plan to cut the legal minimum wage for the young, hundreds of youths from the suburbs descended on Paris to attach themselves to peaceful protests and turn their rage against the police.

Many of the those youths, identified as coming in from the poor suburbs, battled the police, burned cars and smashed store windows.

In one protest, nearly 50 policemen were injured in five hours of violence. In another incident, a television cameraman was beaten and kicked so badly as he filmed a gang of casseurs that he suffered a fractured skull.

In the current protests, the technology of cellphones makes it easier for the roving bands of youths to coordinate their actions and warn one another about police movements.

Jean-Claude Delage, secretary general of Alliance, a police union, said the police had to deal with "a pattern of urban guerrilla warfare, with highly mobile youth, five or six of them together, linked by cellphones and attacking anyone at all."

Some of the youths even share instant war trophies: photographs and short scenes of violence and vandalism they have captured on their cellphones.

The police have so far been using restraint, trying to avoid what is called the Malik Oussekine syndrome. Malik Oussekine was a 22-year-old student protester who died after being badly beaten by the police during a mass demonstration in 1986 to protest a proposal to give universities more autonomy in student selection. President Jacques Chirac, who was prime minister at the time, withdrew the initiative; the education minister was forced to resign.

Mr. Sarkozy said his concerns about avoiding attacks on innocent people prevented him from authorizing the riot police to move in against troublemakers on Tuesday evening while peaceful protesters were still in the area. A small number of his plainclothes police officers are wearing dreadlock wigs, hoods and Palestinian kaffiyehs to try to blend in with the street toughs.

Asked by Le Parisien whether he was afraid of the "Malik Oussekine syndrome," Mr. Sarkozy replied: "I had to deal with 25 days of riots in November. Not one person died."

Ariane Bernard contributed reporting for this article.

Sarkozy is dreaming. France will burn to the ground. If I'm wrong, please demand your money back. My secretary should be done filing her nails by then and the cheques will be in the mail. If I'm right, then we must organise ourselves along new principles of politics, something the likes of which we have never yet considered. This its the time to start thinking and acting for the future as it will be. What is to be done? You're going to decide that.

Puffer Fish Jihadis

Our friend Charles just sent in the following letter on the nature of the jihadi rampage in France and across the world. It's an interesting take on our situation-- and theirs. In reading this we might keep in mind the history of totalitarian thought-control, looking particularly at Plato's Republic and The Laws. Nothing has changed in the philosophy of tatalitarianism from Plato's time till today. To show that is true one might look at the nature of the term "Byzantine." Follow up on that by comparing the intellectual systems concocted by the Soviet government, a hold-over and a remake of the Byzantine courts. This line of enquiry will give clear proof of the nature of the police state, a state in which the people are in jail-- literally. But more than that, we must look at the sophisticatiion of the police state as Charles points out: it is a system of carefully planned random violence leading to terror among the civility. One brief example from Poland, if I may:

A man was arrested at 2:00 am, hauled off into the night after a great deal of noise and commotion on the part of the police. His neighbours and mates all around expected to find someday that he was imprisoned or dead. But some days later he returned, having been found guilty of an actual crime. Within days of his return, he was presented with a refrigerator. To explain: Everyone in the building had an order years long for a fridge, and they all expected to wait many years still for theirs. The criminal got one on the spot. It is sophisticated state terrorism in action. The people, knowing the man had stolen a great deal of money, was arrested and released from custody, and was then rewarded significantly by the hand of the state. The terror resides in the confusion. Do you then go commit some greivous crime in the hope of reward? No. Do you continue on as before as a law abiding citizen? Yes, for which people were randomly arrested anyway. Life makes no sense, it all being random and terrifying. People are immoblised by it. No one knows what to do, so they do nothing but cave in and live till their time is come. The technique is Byzantine. The effect is terror. The result is submission.

Charles writes of the Islamic world-view and its effects on us as outsiders; how we live at the basic levels of Humanness unchanged from the beginning:
****

I am riveted by the apologist writing I'm finding, it's like a voice
from another world, the morals are so foreign to mine.

So far the most interesting observation I make about those authors
defending Islam's current treatment of women: they spend an inordinate amount
of time explaining the state of the world **before** Mohammad, [jahaliyyah: "The time of ignorance, i.e. before people had knowledge of the Quran.] and
little time on cultural comparisons *since* Mohammad. Their
approach is to rationalize the modern treatment by comparing it to
other 7th century (and even pre-7th century!) conditions!
Pathetic. Is this a similar tactic
used to justify their other objectionable customs?

Reading a book about women in Afghanistan under the Taliban, I came
across an illuminating personal anecdote. It really changed my view,
or maybe I
should say gave me a view from a new perspective, about the savagery
we saw last year in France's auto-de fe, and seemingly daily now as a
side-show to the anti-cpe riots.

I kept wondering, "what do they think they have to gain by this kind
of behavior, surely it just hurts them more than it helps?", and a
first-hand description of the Taliban's
method of operations provides the answer: conquer through fear,
control through intimidation, terrorize into submission.

The Taliban would repeatedly engage in spontaneous brutality, not out
of any provocation, but just as a matter of principle, to keep the
citizens terrified into submission. the seeming randomness
and lack of purpose behind the violence, was the major point of the
violence: terror as a means of controlling the population.

Thinking about this further, I've come to this analogy: It is similar
to the animal kingdom, in which many species puff themselves
up when confronted by a predator;
they can flare up their plumage or open up claws or tentacles,
putting on a display of force in order to intimidate the opponent
into retreat.

Is this not the exact same tactic
we are now seeing on display in Europe? Thinking of their behavior as
human behavior, it makes no sense; thinking of the behavior as animal
behavior, [ethology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethology] well, now we have a way of making sense
of it. (And what a sad conclusion this is for me to arrive at.)

There's a famously charismatic Australian naturalist named Steve
Irwin, the "Crocodile Hunter", who has been on cable television for
years hosting nature shows, primarily for a young
audience. I can now see photos and videos of the current European
jihadists and hear Steve Irwin's off-screen narration, "Crikey, look
at me, look at how tough I am, you don't want
to mess with me!", as he so often does when he enthusiastically
explains the natural reaction of everything from snakes to crocs when
they're facing down perceived adversaries.

We are allowing our world to become an Orwellian nightmare, and it becomes so because we are afraid. We are victims of our own fear rather than any real danger from our enemies. I urge all agian to meet with your neighbours and commnity members to sit and openly discuss this problem of jihad and Left dhimmi fascism. As frightening and terrifying as our enemies appear to be, they are actually nothing much at all. We must give each other the confidence to confront the threats as they are and not as we might think they are. That will come if and when we meet and look each other in the eyes and know we are solid and true people.

Thursday Meetings

We will again meet at VPL in the atrium Thursday from 7-9:00 pm to try to find ways to deal with the threat of impending sharia in the West. The storm is approaching rapidly, and those who are not prepared will find themselves overtaken by the flood of misery sure to come.

You can prepare for this onslaught of Islamic jihad against us by meeting with your neighbours and community members to plan an alternative future. It doesn't have to turn out wrong for us, but if we do nothing but await the end it wil come and we will be lost. Go out and meet your meighbours and friends and plan for the future. Wear a blue scarf or a anything at all that will identify you to those of interest. Let people know that you wil be available for them. We can win this struggle if we work together as community menmbers and as concerned citizens.

We'll be at Vancouver Public Library in the atrium Thursday evening. Where will you be?

Contempt and Authenticity, part one.

Today's post is short because our secretary is doing her nails and I have to type this on my own. Will return next post with a continuation.

Contempt and Authenticity.

An ageing couple of some means have sent their only child off to the city from their rural estate so he could gain a profession and become something more in life than they. They fret and worry seeming endlessly about his arrival back home now that he's a doctor, and when he arrives-- snide, nasty, rude-- they dote on him. Son manages in short time to get into a duel, outrage the locals, and generally piss me off as I read Ivan Turgenev's novel Fathers and Sons some many years ago.

Father, who does everything he can to be nice to his miserable kid, finally sits in a chair when the son goes out once more, sits and says to his silent and unhappy wife something like: "Mother, he hates us. We are old and boring."

There's more to the son than average youthful thoughtlessness; the son in Turgenev's novel has taken it into his head that he's a [Russian] nihilist. Son is "ultra moderne." He struggles toward an inner "authenticity" that is to my mind so phony I could choke him. He was the "Leftist" of his day, and nothing has changed since other than that the pose is so stiff and transparent that one cannot face it without retching. The pose, the true nature of the character himself, is a sign of our time. It's phony and it's rotten. It's never been any better. Our culture is turned to nihilism and pretence. It's a sham, and it's a dangerous phantasy life of pretend that's causing us to die. All of this in the pursuit of "Real Living."

If we abandon our own lives and cultures and values in favor of those of other we're not being multicultural and sensitive, modern and progressive: we are posing.

Once in Mexicio City I saw a young English woman with long bright red plaited hair and round-rimmed glasses dancing at a "Axtec Cermonial Rite." Her intensity was repellent, so focussed on the spirituality of her communion with the native spirits and so oblivious to her condition that she didn't notice that she is English. I asked my friend Juan about it next day at Walmart. "Los indios." he said, using the local term for stupid people. I was embarrassed. "Juan, you're an Indian. Why would you say that?" He grinned. "Not us, them. Look! We're buying our sacred dance costume junk from Walmart. We get these stupidos to dance around, and they give us lots of money." I remebered the red-haired girl so intense and I burst out laughing. She didn't recognise the junk from Walmart because she's never been to one, preferring to go to Native Markets to buy authentic things. Yes, things bought at Walmart, resold at the Native Market after the Native Dance. The girl obviously had no idea how ridiculous she is, and there's no reason to point it out to her. But when our whole culture is based on obvious stupidities such as this, then we are in trouble. When we despise our own culturres and efforts as harmful and hateful and pursue the falsities of Walmart Indians, then we have lost something we should have retained, if only our money.

We in the modern West are engulfed by a population of idiots who think the Walmart Indians are truer to real life than our parents. The joke is on them; but unfortunately, we have to live with these idiots. It's a serious and life-threatening problem that we might see more clearly by looking at it from a distance. We'll turn to a history of these people to see who and what they are so we can see our own more clearly. We are not facing naive young girls but the intellectuals of the 19th to mid 20th centuries.

Below we'll look at authenticity and contempt. This should shed more light on our themes of recent posts on multiculturalism, cultural relativism, and the general ruin of our time, philobarbarism. The primary source for this essay is John Carey, The Intellectuals and the Masses: Pride and Prejudice among the Literary Intelligentsia, 1880-1939. London: Faber and Faber; 1992. First we'll look briefly at wikipedia's blurb on authenticity.
****

[T]hose concerned with living authentically have often led unusual lives that opposed cultural norms; the rise of the counter-culture in the 1960s in Europe and America was seen by many as a new opportunity to live an authentic existence. Many, however, have pointed out that just because one lives unusually, one is not necessarily in an authentic state of being. The connection of the violation of cultural norms to authenticity, however, is strong and real, and continues today: among artists who explicitly violate the conventions of their profession, for example. The connection of inauthenticity to capitalism is contained in the notion of "selling out," used to describe an artist whose work has become inauthentic after achieving commercial success and thus becoming to an extent integrated into an inauthentic system.

When we return we'll look at the view so common today of the suburbanite as trash. this inverted snobbery of the intelligentsia is a replay of the view of the suburbanite from the 19th century. Please join us when we return.

Get Tough or Die.

I've been on the road for nearly 35 years, and I have not lived all those days by fighting and killing those who threaten me. I live in a state of high awareness of potential and actual danger, and I live fairly peacefully. I don't fight at the drop on any hats, regardless. The crazies are long since dead, too stupid to work out a cautious solution. Then again, there have been moments in these long years when reason would not do, and I bear the scars of need. Though I don't fight people as a matter of course even in the long duration of this odd life I know there are times when not to fight is to die. Here I am.
Most civilized people could not bear the life of an adventurer for more than a long weekend, a few days camping or hiking. My face looks like an old brick wall. I scare people. Not surprisingly, few wish to fight with me. Civilised people move away from me in supermarkets. Primitive people move around me. I'm an easy-going guy. Most people like me. I am also a very nasty guy at times. Do you think you want to avoid me?

We were four in the room on the second floor one night when we were awakened by the sounds of what we thought was a large cat being tortured. We ran to the balcony and looked out onto the street in the darkness to see a struggling peasant tied to a wooden street post. He shrieked as the first whacks hit his arms; and as the machete blows continued we stood in sickness and disgust watching him slowly dissolve into man hamburger.

We didn't sleep or speak the rest of the night. One must wonder why a gang of men would butcher another man like that. It was probably a matter of rough justice that we would have approved of had we but known the reason for it. Or maybe not. We moved on in the morning. This was not a Club Med vacation. We made our way through the jungle instead. We were tough. We survived.

Europe faces a primitive enemy today, and while one might think it's Islam the fact is that the enemy is our primitive fear of emotional harm. We don't want to be tough and ugly. We want to look nice and smell good. We want people to like us. We do not want to be dirty and scary.

30 guests in a Swedish public bath watched as a 17-year-old girl was raped recently, and nobody did anything. The girl was first approached by 16-year-old boy. He and his friends followed her as she walked away to the grotto, and inside the grotto he got her blocked in the corner, ripped off her bikini and raped her, while his friend held her firm.

In an online readers' poll from the newspaper Aftonbladet, 82% of the women expressed fear to go outside after dark. There are reports of rapes happening in broad daylight.

Swedish girls Jenny and Linda were on their way to a party on New Year's Eve when they were assaulted, raped and beaten half to death by four Somali immigrants. Sweden's largest newspaper has presented the perpetrators as "two men from Sweden, one from Finland and one from Somalia", a testimony as to how bad the informal censorship is in stories related to immigration in Sweden. Similar incidents are reported with shocking frequency, to the point where some observers fear that law and order is completely breaking down in the country. The number of rape charges in Sweden has tripled in just above twenty years. Rape cases involving children under the age of 15 are six - 6 - times as common today as they were a generation ago. Most other kinds of violent crime have rapidly increased, to o. Instability is spreading to most urban and suburban areas.

"Real Men Moisturize." So begins an article on "Sharp Dressed Men" that appeared in a State Department funded magazine aimed at youth in the Arab world. The magazine, called "Hi" is published in Arabic and English. A State Department website explains that Hi is published "with the hope of building bridges of greater understanding among our cultures."

The article continues: "In fact, some of them, like Michael Gustman, a 25-year-old public relations account executive from Boca Raton, Fla., even have separate moisturizers for the face and body. Facial pores can clog with too heavy a salve, it seems. Not long ago, these and other habits would have been considered odd for a male. Gustman exfoliates. He gets manicures. He gets pedicures. He gets facials. He gets his hair done every two weeks. He accessorizes. He puts effort into getting ready for a date. He loves cooking complex dishes. He's a refined, evolved, sensitive guy. In a word, he's a metrosexual."

The photo accompanying the story pictures the male author seated in a pedicure chair, pants rolled up to his knees, along with half a dozen women enjoying the same treatment. (The women's faces aren't visible, but we can guess that they look puzzled or possibly even repelled.) http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/charen060305.asp

Europe's botched civilization, perverted by socialism and lost faith, seems to have lost the will, the passion to sustain itself. If it continues to practice today's multiculturalist leftism, Europe's demographic doom will be sealed. Some harbingers:

In Brussels, Belgium, the most popular name for baby boys is now Mohammad. Sustaining the population of a nation requires that on average each couple gives birth to 2.1 children. The average European couple now has fewer than 1.4 babies, compared to 3.6 babies born to the average Muslim immigrant couple in Europe. Across Western Europe 16 to 20 percent of babies are being born into Muslim families.

In France at least 12 percent of the population is already Muslim, the fruits mostly of immigrants from former French colonies in North Africa. If present birth trends continue, by 2030 a quarter of France's people will be Muslim, more than enough to determine who controls the national parliament and executive. As this columnist recently noted, the nuclear-armed French military is already 15 percent Muslim. Adjacent Switzerland is now 20 percent Muslim.
The German newspaper Deutsche Welle days ago reported that Germany's birth rate in 2005 fell to a level lower than at the end of World War II, to a "historic low," more than fifty percent lower than those of France and Great Britain. But at a meeting this week in Berlin that brought together the interior ministers of six European nations, Germany's leftwing Social Democrats continued to oppose the application of any test or standard that would restrict who could migrate into Germany.

The burgeoning Muslim population within Europe is not evenly spread. It is largely concentrated in and around big cities, whose local politicians feel its pressure acutely and often bend to that pressure. In the Netherlands the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam nearly have Muslim majorities now.

These Islamic enclaves are already taking on the character of conquered provinces that no longer belong to the European countries around them. As FrontPage Magazine recently quoted from the new book While Europe Slept by liberal American expatriate Bruce Bawer:

In France, a public official met with an imam at the edge of Roubaix's Muslim district out of respect for his declaration of the neighborhood as Islamic territory to which she had no right of access. In Britain, imams have pressed the government to officially designate certain areas of Bradford as being under Muslim, not British, law. In Denmark, Muslim leaders have sought the same kind of control over parts of Copenhagen. And in Belgium, Muslims living in the Brussels neighborhood of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek already view it not as part of Belgium but as an area under Islamic jurisdiction in which Belgians are not welcome.

Either we get tough or we die. I'm no tough guy like Bogart or Tom Cruise in the movies. I make my way around the world as I am and I live and love and fool around as I please. For some few moments over the course of 35 years there have been episodes of physicality. They are few because I have boundaries that others recognise from a distance, and few cross them. That makes life easier for me and for those who would transgress to their dismay. Europe and its Muslim populations must learn this lesson or not. If there are nativist boundaries backed up by a muscular attitude, then Muslims will assimilate or leave Europe, preventing the civil war that will otherwise come. Or Europeans will lie down and get kicked to death. This situation doesn't require crazed violence on the part of the natives of Europe. It does require sense and some rational defence of the reasonable. Europe cannot continue on this current road for another 35 years. Europe will have to get tough or die.

Time, Truth, and Falsehood

Recent posts here are centred on our public and social epistemologies, on how we understand our lives and places in the world. We've looked at multiculturalism, cultural relativism, false consciousness, triumphalism, and religious revivalism, for examples, to see how we express ourselves socially and how we might. If we see the world in one way or another, then we will act in one way or another, even to the point of living or dying as whole peoples. If we follow a bad idea that leads to the grave, so we die. To follow ideas is not to suggest that we understand them or even realise they are ideas. Few people read Franz Fanon, for example, in deciding whether to have children in America; and yet, Fanons's work plays a role in that decision for many couples-- or singles-- today. So, if we must walk into this greyness that is our future, let us at least know where we came from if not where and why we are on this particular path. Let's look at our public opinion of Truth, at least very briefly and superficially. Time is short. It is important that we decide soon our positions.
****

Subjective versus objective

Metaphysical subjectivism holds that the truth or falsity of all propositions depends, at least partly, on what we believe.

In contrast, objective truths are supposed in some way to be independent of our subjective beliefs and sensations. Such truths would subsist not in the mind but in the external universe. Except for propositions that are actually about our beliefs or sensations, what is true or false is independent of what we think is true or false. Some scientists claim that science provides objective truths by means of measurement and independent confirmation of results. Kant made the same claim for mathematics.

Relative versus absolute

Relative truths are statements or propositions that are true only relative to some standard or convention or point-of-view. Usually the standard cited is the tenets of one's own culture. Everyone agrees that the truth or falsity of some statements is relative: That the fork is to the left of the spoon depends on where one stands. But Relativism is the doctrine that all truths within a particular domain (say, morality or aesthetics) are of this form, and Relativism entails that what is true varies across cultures and eras. For example, Moral relativism is the view that moral truths are socially determined. Some logical issues about Relativism are taken up in the article on the relativist fallacy.

Relative truths can be contrasted with absolute truths. The latter are statements or propositions that are taken to be true for all cultures and all eras. For example, for most Muslims "God is great" expresses an absolute truth; for the microeconomist, that the laws of supply and demand determine the value of any consumable in a market economy is true in all situations; for the Kantian, "act only according to that maxim by which you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law" forms an absolute moral truth. They are statements that are often claimed to emanate from the very nature of the universe, God, human nature, or some other ultimate essence or transcendental signifier.

Absolutism in a particular domain of thought is the view that all statements in that domain are either absolutely true or absolutely false: none is true for some cultures or eras while false for other cultures or eras. For example, Moral absolutism is the view that moral claims such as "Abortion is wrong" or "Charity is good" are either true for all people in all times or false for all people in all times.

We often play the futile game of finding this man or that to blame for the nature of our fallenness. Some point to Descartes, others to Kant, some many to Nietzsche, and some at the devil himself. My personal favorites, for what it's worth, are Plato and Rousseau. If it's of any interest, my position comes from Socrates and Kant: Universal and absolute moral truth, of which I have no real idea. However, the concepts above and below will give us at least an inkling of what this discussion is about, and it will give us some idea of why we think the things we think we think, often so naively that we are blinded entirely by our ignorance of our very lives.

Moral relativism

moral relativism takes the position that moral or ethical propositions do not reflect absolute and universal moral truths but instead are relative to social, cultural, historical or personal references, and that there is no single standard by which to assess an ethical proposition's truth. Relativistic positions often see moral values as applicable only within certain cultural boundaries or the context of individual preferences. An extreme relativist position might suggest that it is meaningless for the moral or ethical judgments or acts of one person or group to be judged by another, though most relativists propound a more limited version of the theory.

Some moral relativists — for example, the existentialist Jean-Paul Sartre — hold that a personal and subjective moral core lies or ought to lie at the foundation of individuals' moral acts. In this view public morality is a reflection of social convention, and only personal, subjective morality is truly authentic.

One might well blame Descartes for his near solipsistic cogito, and one might prefer Berkley's God-driven reality. It's useful to have an informed opinion but it's also a bit late. The question now is how do we know what is true. To claim there is no universal truth is to claim that is universally true. We have to confront our own lives and decide for ourselves whether we are living in a life-world that, though we cannot know it directly beyond our senses, is or is not, and is or is not universally morality-capable.

If we lie to ourselves out of supposed convenience or prudence, we are still living in bad faith, inauthentically, and we are incapable of morality. To know the authority of the moral, if there is such, is to know universally and absolutely the possibity of the moral. We must decide our position.

In response to the latter we have recently posted on triumphalism and revivalism in contrast to the posts on cultural relativism and multiculturalism. From this, one of our more organincally incapable commentators has suggested that I am akin to Hitler. Regardless, and giving that all the deep consideration it warrants, we must decide our position clearly and quickly. The above pieces might draw to our attention the possiblities we have to choose from.

We have to choose, and we must then act, even if in our actions we steam-roll some of our own.
